Who is the Hifz Scholars program for?

Hifz Scholars is for children aged 8 to 15 who can already read the Quran with reasonable steadiness and whose families would like them to begin memorizing. Memorization is easier and more accurate when reading is comfortable, so we look at this first.

In the trial class the teacher listens to your child read and talks with you about your goals. If reading still needs work, she may suggest a few weeks on Tajweed and fluent reading before starting hifz. This protects your child from learning mistakes that are hard to undo later.

How does a hifz class work?

Classes are private, 30 minutes and live on Zoom with Ustadha Ayesha Azmat, who holds an ijazah with a sanad in Tajweed-ul-Quran, Hafs 'an 'Asim. A hifz class usually follows three parts:

  1. Sabaq: the new portion, recited with the teacher until your child is secure.
  2. Sabqi: revision of recent portions, to keep them fresh.
  3. Manzil: revision of older portions, so earlier memorization is not lost.

Throughout, the teacher listens for Tajweed, including makharij, madd and the marks on each letter, and corrects gently. She uses a digital pen and on-screen slides when a point needs explaining, and she uses positive reinforcement and reward stickers to keep your child encouraged.

What does memorization with meaning involve?

Children remember more easily what they understand. Alongside memorization, the teacher can explain in simple words what a short portion is about, in English, Urdu or Arabic, so your child knows the message behind the words they recite.

This is gentle, age-appropriate explanation, not a formal course in tafseer. It is there to make memorization more meaningful and to help your child connect the Quran to daily life, together with daily duas, manners and stories of the Prophets.

Memorization depends on daily repetition, and class time alone is not enough. Most families find it helps to set a fixed quiet time each day when the child revises aloud, ideally with a parent or older sibling listening. You do not need to be a hafiz to listen and encourage.

Regularity matters more than long sessions. A child who revises a little every day usually keeps what they learn better than one who studies hard once a week. The teacher can suggest a simple home routine that fits your child's age and school schedule.

What should I expect from this program?

Memorization speed varies a great deal. It depends on your child's age, memory, practice at home and regular attendance. We do not promise how many pages or how many months, and we do not set targets before meeting your child. After the trial class the teacher will describe a realistic pace.

The Intensive Hifz track is five private 30-minute classes a week for $99 a month, and the other plans are open to you as well. See tuition and schedules, then request the free trial class.

Questions about best kids quran in United States

How fast will my child memorize the Quran?

We cannot promise a speed, and we would be wary of anyone who does. Memorization depends on age, memory, daily practice and regular attendance. After the trial class the teacher will describe a realistic pace for your child, and she will talk it through with you as your child settles in. Steady, careful revision is what builds lasting memorization.

Does my child need to read fluently before starting hifz?

Reading should be steady and mostly accurate. Memorizing with mistakes in pronunciation makes them harder to correct later. If your child is not there yet, the teacher may suggest more reading and Tajweed first. This is not a delay but preparation, and it often makes memorization smoother when it begins.

Which plan is right for a child who wants to memorize?

The Intensive Hifz track is five 30-minute classes a week for $99 a month, which suits daily memorization and revision. Three classes a week at $65 or two at $45 can suit a slower start or a busy school schedule. The teacher will suggest what seems realistic after the trial class.

Can a teenager aged 13 to 15 join?

Yes. The program covers ages 8 to 15, and the teacher adjusts the pace, the way she explains meaning and the home routine to your child's age. Older children often manage their own revision schedule well, but a parent listening now and then still helps. Ask on WhatsApp if you would like to discuss your teenager's situation first.

Can I sit in on the classes?

Yes. Classes are private and one-to-one, and parents are welcome to sit nearby. For younger children we suggest a parent stays close. We also encourage families to ask us how classes are run and who the teacher is before enrolling. You can ask about her qualifications on WhatsApp at any time.
