What is the Little Mu'min program for ages 4 to 6?

Little Mu'min is our program for young children who are meeting the Quran for the first time. Many of these children do not speak Arabic at home, so everything starts at the very beginning: seeing the letters, hearing the sounds and saying them back to a gentle, patient teacher.

Classes are private and live on Zoom with Ustadha Ayesha Azmat, who has experience teaching children outside the Arab world. She speaks English, Urdu and Arabic, so she can explain things in the language your child follows most easily. You can read more on the teacher page.

How does a 30-minute class work for a young child?

Young children learn in short bursts, so each class is divided into small parts instead of one long lesson. A class might open with a greeting and a short dua, move on to a few letter sounds, then some simple reading practice, and finish calmly.

The teacher writes with a digital pen and shows slides on screen, so your child can watch the letters appear and follow along. Positive reinforcement and reward stickers keep the mood warm and encouraging. If your child is tired, the teacher slows down.

What will my child learn first?

  • Letter shapes and sounds: the Arabic letters, taught one at a time with correct makharij, the places the sounds come from.
  • Harakat: the short vowel marks that change how a letter is read.
  • First reading: joining sounds into simple syllables, following the Noorani Qaida.
  • Daily duas, manners and stories of the Prophets: short, simple pieces that fit into a young child's day.

When your child reads with more confidence, the teacher can move on to the Tajweed rules at a pace that suits their age.

Classes are one-to-one, and parents are welcome to sit nearby. For children aged 4 to 6 we suggest a parent stays close, mostly to help with the screen, the headphones and sitting comfortably.

Before enrolling, please ask us how classes are run and who the teacher is. Our page on interactive learning explains the Zoom setup.

What should I expect in the first few months?

Every child is different. Progress depends on your child's age, how much they practice at home and how regularly they attend. Even five minutes of repeating the day's letters with a parent helps.

We do not promise a speed or a finish date. After the trial class the teacher will describe a realistic pace for your child, and you can choose a plan from there. Plans start at $45 a month for two private 30-minute classes a week. See tuition and schedules for all three plans.

The trial class is free. Request it here or message us on WhatsApp, and we will match a teacher, subject to availability.

Questions about best kids quran in United States

What is the right age to start Quran classes for toddlers online?

Our Little Mu'min program is for children aged 4 to 6. At this age most children can sit for a short class with a parent nearby, recognize shapes and repeat sounds. If your child is younger or very restless, ask us on WhatsApp. The teacher can suggest whether to start now or wait a few months, and the free trial class is a low-pressure way to see how your child responds.

Does my child need to know any Arabic already?

No. Most children in this program start with no Arabic at all. The teacher begins with letter sounds and builds from there, and she can explain in English, Urdu or Arabic. It helps if your child hears Quran recitation at home, but it is not required. What matters most is a calm, regular routine and a little practice between classes.

How many classes a week does a young child need?

Plans are two, three or five private 30-minute classes a week, at $45, $65 and $99 a month. Young children often do well with fewer, shorter sessions, but this depends on your child and your family's schedule. The teacher will suggest a realistic pace after the trial class, and you are free to choose the plan that fits.

Can classes be moved if we are traveling?

Yes. Classes can be rescheduled when your family travels, as long as you give notice. Times are booked around your time zone in the USA, UK, Canada or Australia, and you can ask about weekend slots if weekdays are busy after school. Message us on WhatsApp as early as you can so we can find a new time that works.

Is the trial class really free?

Yes, the trial class is free. You request it through the short form or on WhatsApp. We ask for your WhatsApp number so we can reply, and we match a teacher, subject to availability. No payment is taken for the trial class. Afterward you can choose a plan, or stop if it does not feel like the right fit for your child.
